Description: This BIG baboon is TRULY an AMAZING performer!!! AHS HM Winner, 2020!!! Definitely one of my best performing "Giants" here on the farm... one of the best rebloomers of the lot of 'em!
As if the WONDERFULLY UNIQUE color scheme isn't enough, this feisty circus act just doesn't stop! The clarity and saturation of the pink-tinged brick orange-red is eye-poppin' entertainment in itself, but to have it fringed in a beautiful tan frame? The throat and eyewash are a very punctuating addition... REALLY pretty color scheme!
This one rebounds incredibly well after being moved... flowers and scapes shown are ALL from plants after being lined in early October the year before! The clump photo was taken by a friend of mine (Matt), in his garden in Idaho (high desert/extremes of all kinds)... after I'd sent him a double fan of it the year before. When I say "Giant", I'm NOT kidding!!! Perhaps you might understand what I consider to be a "specimen" daylily now? Treat it as you would a shrub! Though registered at 38" tall, don't be surprised if after its second year (and beyond) in situ for you it hits 44-46". Since selecting it, I've moved it too often to get a "mature" scape height on it again... just a scribbled "50" near its seedling number in my ledger. I can't imagine any better branching though, with all the many laterals bifurcating into separate bud whorls as it is.... even "just moved" stat's move it to the head of the line! With fast rebloom, there's good increase... so there's no reason to wait a few years to see its phenomenal nature!!!
For sure, a FUN performer overall!!! Now get some spunk in YOUR butts, and order ya up some!!! ;-)
