GORGEOUS FLOWER, and AMAZING PLANT!!!
From stem to stern, this plant is... quite simply... a SPECIMEN daylily. HUGE fans, HEALTHY wide foliage, MASSIVE and well-branched scapes... and oh yeah, STUNNING (and VERY consistent) blooms! It's nearly impossible for me to catch the ethereal blend of lavender and pink on the eye of the flower... I've really done what I can, but my photos don't come near showing just how amazing this flower really is. Very rapid rebloom, and fast rebound when moved. Definitely one of the best I've ever done. When I actually force myself to get on Facebook, I'm always surprised to see how many people are showing this one off.
There actually IS a very good reason for the name on this one. Get your mind outa the gutter too, 'cuz it's likely more legitimate than ya might think! Here's the REAL reason: This plant erupts with such vigor in the Spring, that it literally slaps ya in the face with its tall scapes and blooms... and then tickles ya with its amazing ruffles upon opening!!! So there... ya dirty minded people! {{hee hee}} ;-)
