Daylily: Hormone Therapy*

Hey... let's face it - most of us true gardeners are gettin' "up there". Don't ya think we could ALL use a bit of "Hormone Therapy"?!?! Well, HERE it is... and just in the knick o' time!!!

This saturated hot pink gal is just TOO gorgeous NOT to share!!! The blooms aren't "enormous", but with so many of 'em per scape (and rebloom t'boot!), its rich color has an AMAZING effect on the garden... and for QUITE a long time!!! It's no secret that I think truly "hot pink" is AWESOME (I’ve had a few award-winners of the genre already), so it shouldn't surprise ya's that I'd come up with a version of it in yet another form! I generally get these beauties by crossing reds into pinks, but with this one, I added a dash of purple in the background for an even richer color. It WORKED, and in REALLY nice fashion! I SO appreciated the larger (and quite vivid) green throat that this one sports, as it both contrasts AND accents the gorgeous self color so well. Indeed, the level of saturation on this gal definitely adds a blast of complimenting eye-dazzlin' color 'round here... that I just KNOW will have y'all feelin' like "love is in the air" in YOUR gardens, TOO! WOO HOOOO!!!

PLEASE havva look at the two scape photos (had to do two, 'cuz there's a LOT goin' on with this gal!). In the one of the top of the scapes, you'll see this hottie has GREAT branching... where the lateral branches bifurcate into dual terminal whorls of buds - VERY uncommon in diploids. In the second photo, the base of the very same plant is pictured... showing just how rapidly this "juiced for action" gal reblooms. ALSO very rare for diploids. But get this: This is just a double fan plant, lined the previous Fall!!! Now THAT'S a PERFORMER!!!!!

SO... you can sit around in your back yards looking at dull, drab, faded pink blooms and feel sorry for yourselves... OR... you can inject your gardens with a MAJOR jolt of "Hormone Therapy", and put some ACTION back into your lives! WOO HOOO!!! ;-)
