Description: ADORABLE cascading "unusual form" (UF), that likes to tickle ya with its curly anthers! How utterly FUN!!!
This newer cultivar has SO won ALL of us (including garden friends!) over since its selection, and for a number of reasons! Plant habit is extremely voracious, and heavy rebloom simply amazing! As a clump, the first aspect that gets ya from afar is the obvious contrast of the sweeeeet light lemon yellow self and the bold eye (which is actually a double-shaded lavender, and a fine pick for pattern breeding - as she's wickedly pod fertile). That eye is quite wide, which gives the large green throat a bit more stage presence as well! Of course, the ridiculously playful form is what REALLY fires folks up to havva closer look... and off they go! Once upon it, it's impossible to miss the fact that the filaments of the bloom are nearly all contorted... which SO adds to the endearment! Zoom in closer for a sniff (and tickle!), and you're well rewarded! Just NO way to leave this plant... without a smile on your face.
This introduction is dedicated to one of the most wonderful people I've ever met... Deanna Mosely. Anyone who knows me also knows how much I love my "Golden Boys" (our Golden Retrievers), which is how I met Deanna... she's my Vet! We hit it off immediately, because she's not only sharp as a tack... but TRULY has a heart that has no bounds (and trust me, I'm no spring chick... I know sincerity when I experience it!). Though I loved her from the start, I really wasn't prepared for the REAL Deanna to emerge during the process of losing our daddy dog Ben in the Summer of '19. Honestly, I'm fighting tears in writing this... as the memory of learning just who Deanna is at that time... reaches deeply. Because my garden is an extension of MY heart, this is the most personal thing I could do to show Deanna not only what she means to me personally... but to this world. Deanna and I have all sorts of “hopes”, but one that we most definitely share is that perhaps more people could see through their differences… if they use a little bit of their hearts to make it a better place. We dunno… think it’s possible?
Indeed, if you're looking for a new Vet... then drop on in and meet Deanna in the flesh! You'll LOVE both her AND the practice she's founded (Hope Animal Hospital - now ya get the new plant's name?), as well as the new daylilies (yes, THIS one!) planted right in front!!! ;-)
