Description: What a BEAST of a plant!
The habit on it is just AMAZING! You can kinda see the marker tucked in front of it in one photo here - my standard field markers are 21"! One of my "Giants" for sure, and likely best treated as a shrub!
Truly, it's FUN to watch this plant progress through the season... making it a true "specimen" daylily. HUGE fans produce stunning foliage, and an absolute eruption of gargantuan scapes... that produce very large flowers in profusion, and the huge green throat is SO fresh against the pink self (ya just can't help but notice it!). Oddly, the sepals have a gold edge... but almost non-existent on the petals. The thick substance of the flowers (and scapes) provides excellent storm resistance. Not enough the first go-round? Don't fret! The rebloom on this hottie is simply awesome!!! I included a personal reference photo (wasn't really meant to "show" anyone but me) that shows what a double fan I'd just planted the previous Fall could do. Each fan produced rebloom incredibly fast - I'm holding the initial scape in my hand (just finished), with rebloom scape in my finger tips. Impressive!
A plant to get "pumped up" over! Who couldn't use a hot pink pair of these to show off in the garden?! Thanks SO much to BFF Susan Okrasinski for the name for this one!!!
