Description:

2022: NOTE changes at bottom of updated description!

My gosh... where do I start??? The whole description of this plant needs to be in "ALL CAPS" to pound home just how distinctive this AHS JC Award winner truly is... but I just can't do that to ya's!

THIS was definitely my "flagship" plant for the 2015 collection, and to be honest, my first 2 decades of hybridizing. Breeding for plant habit is extremely difficult, because even though it's made sense to me as a gardener, plants created with such emphasis just don't sell well. Quite simply... people buy pretty faces, and not plant habit. On a GOOD day, I really DO get a plant that fits my performance style... and lo and behold, it DOES have a stunning flower! This one, well... it's "ALL THAT"!  The photo with the towering scape was taken when it was just a single seedling clump - see how it "stands out" among peers???

I'd never priced a plant as high as this one initially ($195 upon intro), but in all honesty... it's worth far more. Personally, I've paid over $300 for plants that weren't nearly as distinctively unique IN THE GARDEN... or produced SO many select seedlings (it's wickedly pod fertile, and passes it's stellar habit along to kids quite readily). The photo with me in it (taken just before sunset, on a 98-degree day) shows how it rebounded after lining for intro in 2015... not full height its first year after being split and moved, but still rather amazingly adaptable! The double fan in front had fans almost as big as my thigh! And this, in record drought (notice the struggling banana in the background)!

Anyway... there ya have it. Just read the stat's, look at the flower, check out the scape shots (and how deep the lateral branching is, as well as the fact that ALL branches bifurcate into as many as 10-12 terminal whorls)... and a rock-solid dormant? GET OUTA TOWN!!! Oh wait... don't forget to submit your order first, though! ;-)

2022: Thanks to a VERY good friend, I was able to trade for inventory on this "forever sold out" hottie - so I actually have a few to sell again this season!  Still limited though - so make it snappy! Oh... and don't think I'll be splittin' up MY display clump that's in the new video, either - I LOVE having it around in clump form again, AT LAST!

Here's an early season habit assessment for this AMAZING plant - havva look!...
