Description: This plant is simply... GORGEOUS.
I pursued green throats first, BIG green throats that extend well out onto the petals next... and got several gorgeous flowers as a result, and without the aid of using any of George Doorakian's fabulous green throats in any of my lines. I did however, get "Rose F. Kennedy" (RFK) the year it came out... but since I wasn't impressed with its plant habit, I used it only for pollen... and very sparingly, for just one season. I'm glad I did now, because merging the two lines has produced some truly incredible new plants... like THIS wondergirl, "Hypatia"! I chose this name, because the real Hypatia (the philosopher/teacher of Alexandria, Egypt) has been unsung for far TOO long (look her up - a truly fascinating story)... and witnessing the beauty of this flower in the garden... {{sigh}}... truly puts me in a theologian state of mind! Every time I see these gorgeous flowers here in the garden, I can't help but take a photo (or two). Needless to say, I've got hundreds on file! No matter the day or conditions, she's simply... breakthtaking.
This pink is of the most serene I've seen born of RFK, lighter in warmer temps (as you can see in her photo's). It likes to cascade a bit, but not enough to qualify as a "UF" overall... which isn't a "bad" thing, as it now qualifies for exhibition as an "extra large" flower... and with gorgeous erect scapes, is likely to WIN! ;-)
2022: LIMITED (apparently, perpetually - sells out every year)
