Description:

Indeed... next stop, the TOP of the mountain!!! And what a FUN (and quite scenic!) ride it is!!!

This plant has ALWAYS made me laugh. It's beyond "slightly different"... it's just plain... WEIRD!!! The flower is really pretty, but I'll be the first to admit that it's not exactly a "rare" scheme. However, put that flower on scapes that are SO bizarrely TALL and well-branched... and suddenly, it's just TOO COOL! Tired of having tall UF's and spiders as your ONLY choice for "back of the border" plantings? Well... HERE'S your answer! A flower that looks like it's right out of a southern nursery, but on a sturdy dormant plant that can hit 5' tall!!! STURDY tet dormant scapes literally LAUGH at wind and torrential downpours!

In one pic, I'm showing "the row" I had here just before introducing it.  Can you see how the habit compares to the others around it (which are NO slouches in themselves)?  There's actually not many fans there overall - it only takes a few to appear to be a huge clump!

This novel plant reblooms pretty quickly too... only about a 2-week interval, which means it reblooms even in zone 5, though zone 4 may be iffy. Even so, the branching and bud count STILL offer up a nice long season for this high-flyin' circus gal. It's "distinctive", for SURE!!!

2022:  I've not had this plant available for the past 4 years, and am indeed still very limited.  Catch that funicular SOON, or you'll miss the ride!
