Description: Oh YESSSS!!! There's NO doubt that this gal is a
"PERFORMER"!!! There's absolutely no way I could put anything but
a clump shot as the header here, as it's GARDEN PERFORMANCE that I (at least)
truly seek in daylilies!!! Look at the way this plant develops (Spring clump
photo)... you can
clearly see how it is nearly double to triple the stature of the hundreds of
other seedlings around it in the field, it's truly AMAZING! Even in the
early season shot, you can clearly see how the massive dormant foliage (deep
green, and nearly 2.25" wide of leaf) is just phenomenal. More so, realize
that the plant tag in front of it is standing at 21"... the leaves don't even
"hip" until they get to at least that height! Indeed, fans are nearly the
size of my ankle. Now THAT'S a "SPECIMEN PLANT" if I've ever seen one! In
the single fan photo, you can also see how fast rebloom occurs on this hottie...
bloom, rebloom, and second rebloom all at ONCE! LOVE to see that kind of
amazing performance in my garden... how 'bout YOU?! ;-)
Well... of course, there's a flower too! Totally rigid and fluted,
these bright and cheerful yellow-based flowers are not only big and beefy... but
number well into the hundreds, even on a relatively juvenile clump. It was
plants like this, that got me to thinking... "maybe there's someone else out
there too, that cares about plant performance". An "enlightened
assumption"??? I SURE HOPE SO! ;-)
