Description: This plant is a dedication to a SUPER gal-pal o' mine here in Polkville... Nancy Queen. Honestly, Nancy herself is truly "a rose"... so nice, unassuming, and giving. I'm so happy to be able to have had the opportunity to name a flower in her honor, even if it pales in comparison to the honor it has been to become her friend!
This magnificently saturated and incredibly clear rose daylily has the tendency to fold its petals, giving it a very stylish and graceful appearance. Dignified and stately, the form is relentlessly stunning... no matter what nature can think of to throw at it. Hardy dormant foliage is well founded and secure (proven to zone 3)... indeed, it's just unstoppable! A wonderful new plant, named for a most wonderful gal.
Note the photo of the batch in the garden, which had been lined as little double fans just the previous Fall... GREAT rebound, with fantastic scapes right out of the gate! Definitely a "performer"!
Parent to JOHNNY ON THE SPOT (Owen, '14), and the AMAZING "Dreamliner" (2015).
