Description: What an FUN daylily!!!
I actually sat on this one for an extra year or two, because I wasn’t sure if folks would like a cascading Unusual Form of these smaller dimensions… even if completely proportional. However, the clear colors (including huge green throat) and oh-SO-reliable nature of it eventually won me TOTALLY over!!! At about the same time, Pat Cochenour’s lovely "small UF's" were really becoming popular (they're cute!)… and even though this one isn’t that little, there was a DEFINITE personal AND garden appeal to the entire concept. The fact that this one had such a pattern and color scheme framed by such an intricately ruffled and playful form, a flawless canopy of bloom and rebloom… well, it’s definitely definitive… and cinched the deal!
This new daylily is dedicated to a gal who’s a TRUE friend of EVERY gardener in the entire region of where I live… Julie Flowers. She runs the Master Gardener program for the NCDA in Gaston County, and founded our own here in Cleveland County just a few years ago (which has grown exponentially since, I’m proud to say!). Besides being a true inspiration to SO many people (including ME!), she also happens to have one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever encountered in a gal… honestly, to know her… is to love her. For sure, the gal is a TOTAL “Rock Star” to a LOT of us here… and SO deserves a little love in return for ALL she’s done for us – simply by being Julie!!! LOVE YA, Honeyyyyyy!!! :-*
