Description:

I LOVE THIS PLANT... and for SO many reasons!!!

The green throat, to the eye, is downright "piercing". The soft pink self is sigh-inspiring, and on such well-rounded HUGE blooms (often up to 8.25"), one just can't resist a sniff! It's when getting a bit closer, that suddenly the darker coral-pink edge pops out more vividly... SOOOO GORGEOUS, as it's not really an "edge" - it's as if there's merely a concentration of color, and it frames the whole "picture" SO beautifully! It's not a super tall plant, so the bouquets of these massive flowers it produces seem all the more huge. It's truly a stunner, and wildly pod fertile t'boot!

This gorgeous daylily is dedicated to a very dear friend that we lost, Diane Martin. When I say "we", I mean the whole world... but especially us here in Polkville, NC. Diane was one of the very first people I met when moving here, and a friend ever since! Making Diane laugh was actually pretty easy... but it didn't come without an "Oh Me!" when you'd manage to get her tickled! She didn't mind that I was "slightly different", and in fact... encouraged it. She was a matriarch of our community not because she wore a sword, but because she was truly loved by all of us. We miss her so much, but I'm hoping that by forever appreciating this flower in the gardens... we'll never forget her "Oh Me!"'s, or her BIG wry smile in the aftermath.

I should say too, that Diane definitely had some great progeny... and perhaps like her, this plant is VERY fertile! ;-)
