Description: New video below!
This plant is SO endearing, and incredibly unsual. To the eye, its valour dark color is mesmerizing... and has an amazing solid sheen to it in the sun. Gettin' that "perfect balance" in a bold eye/edged daylily is definitely "optimum"... and this DEEP (nearly black)-eyed purple beauty is JUST that! Big flower with GORGEOUS and clear color, and fab substance t'boot! I've had plants from others that were similar in photos, and even had bigger plant habit... but when I grew them, they were invariably so blotchy that I threw them all out. This one blooms from mid season until near frost, with its IMMEDIATE and HEAVY rebloom making that assured. I used to think that extra-large flowers on shorter scapes was a "bad thing"... but when filling in my gardens here, it's REALLY nice to have something with SO much "punch" closer up front... really comes in handy! If you've been toilin' over the same thing, then do what I did... "Optimeyes" your scheme, and get this plant!!! ;-)
Check out our new video, which aside from poor color rendition, REALLY shows how this hottie looks IN an actual garden!...
