Description: This is the ONLY flower I've ever introduced that wasn't of my own making... though I simply HAD to!!! When visiting gal-pal Sandy Holmes' garden in OH in '09, she had this plant as a seedling... one of nearly 150 from the same cross, where she was trying to get the "tallest white" imaginable. Because I wanted a breeding "bridge" plant with a massive flower of a more variable color base to cross into a myriad of other colors... she was happy to trade me this one to use for such endeavors. THANKS, Sandy... this FAB plant has not only been a great breeder, but EVERYONE who comes here simply MUST have it! During the AHS Nat'l tour here in '14, folks went BONKERS over it... including Sandy herself, who went home with some!
Since the first year here, the fact that the flower array was nearly larger than the plant itself was pretty amazing... though as the years passed, it became obvious the scapes were STUNNING as well! Though most flowers of this ilk are atop scapes 38+", I soon learned there's a lot of folks out there that would like them on a shorter plant... that doesn't have to go "way back there" in the garden. They're right... it's incredibly handy to have such wonderful form where you can see it without wading through the garden to get a truly good look at it... and with rapid rebloom, it's sure to please... ALL summer long!
Thanks for agreeing to let folks in on this action, Sandy... just one more reason to love ya!!! ;-)
THANKS to Susan Okrasinski, for gettin' the FUN shot of Sandy and I at the MWS in Nashville! Also to Susan Cochran, who loves showing off this plant's 4-way branching in Ohio! WOO HOO!!!
