Description:

Melanie Mahlon (of Grampian, PA) is known to friends as "Lanie"... and is an extremely wild gal, to say the least! She's more fun than you could ever imagine, a daylily nut to beat the band... it just seemed "right" to have one named for her wild and crazy ways! I picked this one for her... not just because it's "slightly different" (like her), but also because of it's "Loopie" and great attitude! A wonderfully "serious" color of deep lavender, made so playful with it's appliqué throat... such a showgirl! Love the occaisional shark's teeth that appear, too.

Honestly (and not surprisingly), the plant habit on this plant is what truly wins me over... which was why I just HAD to use a pic I got of it as a seedling clump as a leader here. Blow up the that clump/scapes shot, to get a feel for what I mean by "high performance"... and you'll surely see what I mean! Thick, beefy scapes are deeply branched... with laterals bifucating into multiple whorls of buds... and rebloom already well on its way! Have MERCY - THAT'S a plant worth having!!!

2020: I was knocked down to just 2 fans of this not long after introducing, and it's taken YEARS to get up enough to sell online again. Very little has ever left the place, and yet due to it being "older" now, I'm forced to sell it for a fraction of the value. Such is the "daylily biz", in all its glory!
