Description: Anne McAffery, a fantasy novelist, provided through her Dragonrider stories an escape for me during those "tough" teenage years that we all can easily remember. These stories were all based in a place called "Pern"... an absolutely perfect place to live, save for the retuning menace of the searing "thread" that would come through the atmosphere, and burn everything in it's path to the ground. I've always wanted to let Anne know what her lively stories meant to me, and I've finally found just the right plant to help me do just that!

With a self color of very light shell pink and white, the "soft and pillow-like" feeling is downright sedative. However... around the edge of it resides a very knarled, tendriled, and knobby (and quite bold) gold edge! The total contrast in these two simple features is what captures attention... and a great symbol to the ironic fantasy world that Anne calls "Pern". Angelic appearance... and yet, hardy dormant.

So, if your life gets crazy, and you need a place to escape... take a stroll through your garden, and get a feel of "Life on Pern"!
