Description:

WOW!  This simply ENORMOUS flower is one that is SO unusual, it has flabbergasted virtually every lily-lover that's laid eyes on it in the gardens here!  With blooms that can reach 14", this candy-colored rock star just HAD to be named for someone who has done HUGE things for us lily-lovers... and the first person that came to mind, was the incomparable Mr. John Sheehan.

I was first drawn to John, when he was Regional President for AHS region 2 (the largest in population of all 15 regions).  As if that wasn't philanthropic enough, he had won the only naming rights I have ever donated... merely because he wanted to have a daylily named for a very sweet and beloved gal (Lady Jane Pearcy) who was an avid member of his daylily club (the Wisconsin Daylily Society, or "WDS").  We became much more friendly over the years, but it was when he was kind enough (some may say "crazy") to let me stay with him and his wife while in Madison to do a show for the WDS... that I really got to know "the real John".

John Sheehan, quite simply, is a fantastic human being.  With an incredible history, attitude, and outlook... that make him a fantastic mentor, for how things SHOULD be!  He left such an impression on me, that I had NO choice but to name such an incredible flower after him!  Thank you SO much John, for being so incredible... too!!!
