Description:

I toiled for the LONGEST time where this plant is concerned! Poor Jim Arnold (a GREAT friend of mine from my former haunt of PA) waited for years for me to introduce this plant for him! Sorry 'bout that Jim, I swear I could never forget how much you've done for me!

Meanwhile, the actual "toiling" part is due to the fact that this oddity of a daylily doesn't really meet my personal likes in terms of height and branching/bud count. However, that doesn't change the fact that nearly every visitor that's been to my garden heads right to it! First flowers are nearly a foot across, and the fact that it's 70% polymerous (4 petals and 4 sepals) causes these quite massively square flowers to be somewhat of a roadblock in the field! To me, it's a freakish novelty... and judging by my visitor's reactions, I know there will be some out there that just might want something that's pushing even my own "slightly different" envelope. Even more, those who are truly working to breed polymerous flowers are in very short supply of huge flowers with eyes to work with.
